As we mark International Day for Street Children
Today, we join the rest of the world to mark the International
Day for Street Children and the messages on the signs conveyed by our children
in the photos say it all.
They have felt the pains and brushes of living in the street.
The street child is helpless. He or she has no protection, no
food, no water, no bed, no clothes.
They survive from what they could lay hands on in waste bins, drinking from road side gutters.
Their plights can only be explained by them as they have seen it all.
Many children have been killed on the street. Many have been used for ritual practices. Many have died from starvation and diseases.
Our society have come to take it as being very normal as people see children sleeping on the street and wouldn’t even look the second time.
As an organisation, we continue to fight till we have every child secured, protected, loved and in school.
With 72 children in our children home (Land of Hope), and many others successfully reunified with their families, reintegrated into the larger society and under our home base care; our aim is to have a society from of all forms of child abuse.
YES! It’s possible if we join our efforts to fight this together
Children are our heritage, our future and pride, they are not witches, we must protect them.
